Pen'D Music🎵🎼🎤🎹: Social & Political Awareness Are On The Black & White Forefront with Miguel's "Candles in the Sun, Blowing in the Wind"

My oh my is this a piece of art to behold! This morning a wonderful surprise surfaced from my favorite music artists, and hopefully yours too or soon to be. Miguel is taking over as one of R&Bs greatest renaissance artists of our day and time. Not yet available exclusively on VEVO but through his personal account on VIMEO you will find it.

"Candles In The Sun, Blowing In The Wind" is one of his most politically charged songs to date from his sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream. If you've been following his progression before his major Grammy win for Best New R&B Song "Adorn" you will know about his EP series Art Dealer Chic: Vol 1-3, which is also available for download on my blogizine if you want to check it out. The song was on Vol. 3 so I've known about it and glad to hear it because it gives him depth. It shows he is not just singing about love and carnal desire but also what's happening in the world around him. So let's talk about his latest masterpiece. The black and white creates exactly the right mood to speak about the world and what's happening in it. Besides being utterly handsome and bad a** sexy there's no possibility you can turn away. Let me put my fan crush thoughts to the side because that isn't the purpose here. Miguel wanted to make sure he was not viewed as a "sex" symbol, even though I'm sure he doesn't mind (check out his physique for God's sake!) "Candles In The Sun, Blowing In The Wind" speaks to all of us whether we live richly, luxuriously, moderately, poorly, and even down on our luck. We are living in a depressed state, and for many spiritual people "in the end of times." Whether you believe that or not we need to focus more on each other and what we're doing in our lives. Pay attention to what's happening around you, help others, give from your heart, change the scheme of things. We can make it happen if we just realize and try. I could go on a self-righteously pious rant about how we have lost our way but seriously though we have forgotten how to be kind to each other. Ellen Degeneres uses this phrase as part of her salutation after EVERY show, "Be kind to one another." Don't you think we're put here for more than what is best for ourselves? Timeless & Classic in its making you will find your grandchildren and generations ahead who will reflect back on the meaning and purpose of this man's work. There lies a much deeper and meaningful soul in Miguel, our youth, my generation. We just need an outlet to express it and for anyone and everyone to pay attention. Keep and eye out for more work from him because he's up there sky high with all the movers and shakers. It's time for us to change our way of thinking for a better life for our children to see.
