Kelly Clarkson, winner for Best Pop Vocal Album Stronger can do no wrong to a song. She belts her heart out and gives all she has inside to any song that is chosen to sing. The tribute to 1940's Country-Pop Artist Patti Page was befitting for the Texan native, using her country twang slightly to give the song commemorative justice. The transition into Carole King's "Natural Woman" was easy and grand changing the south-western vibe into a classic, soul'ed out Aretha Franklin rendition. Obviously she has pulled her inspiration from the very best: Aretha Franklin of course, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Etta James.
How do you feel about her blonde tresses? A part from her brunette coif there are times I truly love it and think it's becoming on her. This is one of those times. Love her long-sleeve black dress with the rhinestone waist it just feels like it fits into the whole double song combination. It matches both just right. Another detail I noticed- the microphone was not the traditional modern day stand-alone, the one she was rocking had a cord attached which is symbolic of the way the early country Artists performed. Just Kool.
Kelly is an example of a white girl that has a big voice and knows how to use it. She lives for the music and that's why she is highly respected amongst those who love soul music. She reaches right down inside without hesitation or the strain and pulls out all the glory and magnificence she besets. It is only right to say as American Idol's First Season Winner she absolutely earned her title and still holds her own to this day as a reigning singing Diva.
