Alicia Keys & Adam Levine Scorch Up The Stage With "Girl On Fire"

Triumphant and strong Alicia Keys knows how to write great music. She takes us on a journey through her growth as a young impassioned girl with long braided beaded tresses into a sizzling accomplished short coiffed woman with her albums. It’s very much like Mary J. Blige. We feel we know these women based on their struggles and all their experiences. Their stories are our stories and we appreciate all that they lay out so vulnerable to us as fans and listeners. “Girl on Fire”, need I say more? She is more than on fire, she’s scorching up the place! In addition to becoming a wife and mother, Keys began co-managing her career, produced her first Broadway play, directed her first short film, executive produced a made-for-TV movie as well as an upcoming theatrical film, designed her own Reebok shoe line and recently launched an animated storytelling app for children.

Adam Levine, I could kiss him for accompanying Ms. Keys on this duet with his group Maroon 5. Next to Rihanna and Mikky Ekko‘s duet I could just pass out from the brilliance of the pair-ups. I’m not over-reacting. If you like good music then you feel the same d*mn way!
There’s many great things to say about “Girl On Fire” I don’t know where to begin. Let’s start with the tribal drumming girl friend was working out on those drums! Kool effect. We’re so used to Alicia captivating us on the keys it’s refreshing to witness a totally different instrument. Even though you may be aware of this I want to share, it’s rather fascinating how the maestra’s last name is “Keys” which is signature to her classical piano trained claim to fame. Maybe she was ordained to be who she is or perhaps it’s just coincidence. Whatever it may be it’s destiny. Charley Rogulewski from Vibe compares the heavy beat to a “trash-can lid beat”. That’s actually how I would describe it too. The video has Trinidadian Nicki Minaj throwing her verses in the beginning with illustrious gem-tones permeating and enveloping in the home scene from start to finish.
Who else was thrilled with Adam‘s vocals? Did you think the “This Love” Pop-rocker would pull it off? This duo actually was a good pairing. Despite what I’ve read from other commentators there needs to be more performances with those two together in the future.  The best description I’ve come across is LA Time’s Gerrick Kenndey’s take explaining the 5th studio album-title track to be “a fierce battlecry over a fast-building simplistic hook.” Exactly, that’s it a “battlecry” of the “achievements of women everywhere”. It’s a woman’s anthem. Whether she’s American or not, black, white, red, brown, black, etc. It speaks to all of us. Chant with me Women and Girls of the World!
